Cinnamon Essential Oil - Oil for October 2022

Our Aroma produces all our products with "All Natural" and authentic Essential Oils. The oil that we are highlighting for the month of October 2022 is Cinnamon Essential Oil.

With Fall in the year and the temperatures finally dropping even here in Florida, most homes are being filled with warm, spicy scents that have you reminiscing about your favorite family times. Cinnamon scent and essential oils are key to any of these blends since cinnamon spice is used in many of the holiday recipes baked or cooked at this time of the year.

Pure Cinnamon Essential Oil that Our Aroma produces is a steam-distilled bark from the Cinnamomum verum tree. There are two different Cinnamon Essential Oils offered in the market, bark derived like what Our Aroma offers, and leaf-derived.

Cinnamon (Cinnamomum verum), also called Ceylon cinnamon, is a bushy evergreen tree of the laurel family (Lauraceae) and the spice is derived from the bark. Oils derived from the leaves do not carry or offer the same customary aromatic scent associated with cinnamon spice.

Pure Cinnamon Essential Oil from Our Aroma can be used for aromatherapy, topical application, and internal consumption. As a highly concentrated oil, beware to not overuse oil as it can cause burns on your skin. Dilute it with another oil like Rosehip, Grapeseed, Jojoba, or Argan Oil.

Cinnamon oil uses and benefits

Boost your positive vibes and mood with aromatherapy

Cinnamon oil’s properties make it a popular choice for at-home aromatherapy treatments. Cinnamon oil’s use in aromatherapy hasn’t been extensively studied, but many people enjoy the scent of cinnamon and find it relaxing.

Combats hard-to-treat bacterial organisms

A study that used bacterial cultures and lab tests, found that compounds in cinnamon oil had an antimicrobial effect against Pseudomonas aeruginosa, a potentially life-threatening, drug-resistant bacteria that affects plants, people, and other animals.

Supports oral health

Cinnamon’s antibacterial and antifungal properties have been found to be effective against Streptococcus mutans and on Candida ssp biofilm, two agents which cause oral infections and cavities in teeth.

Disinfects

Cinnamon bark oil’s antibacterial properties make it a safe, effective, and non-chemical additive alternative that can be used to preserve products and increase their shelf life. One study found that cinnamon oil could be effectively used as a preservative in cosmetics, toiletries, and hospital-setting disinfectants.
