For the month of February, with Winter air all around inducing aching teeth, we thought that Clove Leaf Oil is a very relevant oil to share with you.

Clove Leaf Oil that Aroma uses in our products and sells comes from Madagascar, cloves (Eugenia caryophyllata) can be found in nature as the unopened pink flower buds of the evergreen tree.

History tells us that the Chinese have used Clove's for more than 2,000 years as a fragrance and spice. It hit the international health scene several hundred years later. Since then, it has been applied in numerous products for agricultural and cosmetic purposes.

Clove Leaf Oil primary therapeutic properties are analgesic, carminative, antispasmodic, anthelmintic, anti-inflammatory, antiseptic,antioxidant, digestive, anesthetic, stimulant, appetizing, diaphoretic, aphrodisiac, antifungal, anti-carcinogenic and blood cleansing. The most profound properties of Clove oil, however, are related to its widespread application in homeopathic natural medicine. Because it contains an elevated level of eugenol, Clove essential oil has proven to be remarkably versatile and has been thoroughly researched as an effective alternative to many modern medical treatments.

Considerably high in manganese, potassium, magnesium, and calcium – which is used to prevent and treat osteoporosis, anemia and premenstrual syndrome (PMS).

This oil can be successfully blended best with tea tree, rosemary, eucalyptus,lemongrass, pine, lemon, thyme, cedarwood, peppermint, benzoin, black pepper, ginger, patchouli, juniper, lime and bergamot.

Please remember that the strong aroma and active ingredients of Clove Oil should be avoided during pregnancy. Please consult your doctor before use. This oil should also NOT be taken orally as it can be toxic although it can be applied in a diluted form to your teeth and gums.
